Moms and wine go hand in hand for obvious reasons. Obvious to moms at least. The problem I have with wine is that it’s just plain awful. That’s right, I said it. I can’t stand wine. Do people actually like the taste of wine? I don’t see how that’s even possible.
Perhaps it’s a childish side of me that sips wine and thinks to myself (usually out loud) “where are the bubbles?!”
Bubbles? Wait, there is a wine with bubbles! It’s called sparkling wine, aka champagne. I think those are supposed to be two different things but my alcohol palette obviously isn’t sophisticated enough to know the difference. I am just a country bumpkin after all.
Alas, when I need a drink, I turn to champagne. It’s cool, crisp, and well, bubbly. There is just something so refreshing about that boozy carbonation.
Drinking champagne on a regular, non-celebratory basis may seem odd to some. People think champagne is supposed to be kept special for occasions like wedding toasts or New Years Eve. Is the fact that I kept my children alive another day not something to celebrate? (I think it is, but that’s a different story). In all seriousness, someone tell me why champagne shouldn’t be a regular drink option? I mean, it has bubbles, and bubbles just make everything better. So let’s push the bubble-bias aside and pop a cork right now!
I’ll drink to that… cheers!
